1) How fast can I get my real estate license?
Because of mandatory education wait periods, the whole process from
education to license in hand can take approximately five to six months.

2) What are the basic steps involved in getting my real estate license?
- Enroll with Kaplan for a pre-licensing study package.
- Fingerprinting not offered by Kaplan in California; must be done with
local sheriff's station. Can take up to 3 months.
- 18-day minimums will apply for final exams. 54 days total before courses
can be completed, whether live or HS.
- Upon receiving certificates, application can be printed from DRE website:
www.dre.ca.gov.
Students must send in certificates with application
- California DRE will send approval to take state exam; process can
take 12 months.
- Study with Power Test Program and take 2-day prep while waiting to
sit for exam.
- State licensing exam taken with California DRE; no state and national;
one test only.

3) What courses should I complete to get started?
As of October 1, 2007 Completion of 45
hours in Principles, 45 hours of Practice, and a 45-hour elective (Legal
Aspects recommended). 4-year license issued upon passing state licensing
exam. 135 total hours of education required.

4) What content is covered on the licensing exam? What percentage
would I need correct to pass?
California Real Estate Principles.
- Licensing Exam for salesperson is 3 hours and 15 minutes in length
and consists of 150 multiple-choice questions. A score of 70% or higher
is required to pass.

5) Describe your exam prep courses.
Live two-day class includes diagnostic testing to measure strengths
and weaknesses. Also includes a comprehensive review of the key concepts.

6) How long will I have to complete your courses?
All students get one year from the purchase of their course for completion.

Courses start anywhere from $199 to $699. The exam fee is $60.00 for Salesperson/agent and $95.00 for Broker.
The licensing fee is $245.00 for Salesperson/agent and $300.00 for Broker.

You can retake the Salesperson/agent exam for $60.00 and the Broker exam for $95.00

14) How do I get a license to help people apply for loans?
Currently loan professionals in California piggyback off the real estate
license, but that can vary depending on employer.

It varies; we get students anywhere from 18 to 50 years of age and
even older.

16) Are your courses accredited?
They are not accredited, which means they do not transfer to the college
level. But they are fully approved for real estate licensing in the
state of California.

17) Do you have financial assistance? Do you honor the GI Bill?
We work with Sallie Mae to provide student loans. Please call the school
to see if you qualify.
