1) How fast can I get my real estate license?
The whole process from education to license in hand can take approximately
34 months. Fingerprinting and background investigation can take
up to 16 weeks.

2) What are the basic steps involved in getting my real estate license?
- Enroll with Kaplan for a pre-licensing study package.
- Fingerprinting not offered by Kaplan in Nevada; must be done with
local sheriff's station or PSI. Can take up to 16 weeks.
- Course completion certificate will not be needed for licensing exam,
just the $100 exam fee.
- Taking the state exam within one week of course completion is recommended.
- Upon receiving certificates, application can be printed from Nevada
Real Estate Division website: www.red.state.nv.us ; must send in certificates
and fees with application.
- State licensing exam taken with PSI; two part state and national
exam.
- All steps are quick with the exception of the fingerprinting and
background investigation.

3) What courses should I complete to get started?
- The state of Nevada requires students to complete 90 hours of state-approved
education, including 18 hours of Nevada law, to qualify to become a
licensed real estate salesperson.
- 45 hours of Principles
- 45 hours of Law (18 of which must be Nevada Law

4) What content is covered on the licensing exam? What percentage
would I need correct to pass?

license.
- 2 part state and national test, 40 questions for the state portion,
80 for the national portion. 120 total questions; 3 hours are provided
for the exam and 75% or higher is needed to pass.

All students get one year from the purchase of their course for completion.

CE will depend on the amount of hours attempting; 8 credit hours, for

Course tuition is $399 and licensing exam is $100. Fingerprinting and
background check takes approximately 15 weeks and can be done with PSI
or local sheriff's station; costs approximately $65.

You can take the exam again for another $100 charge.

14) How do I get a license to help people apply for loans?
Loan officers typically piggyback off the real estate sales license,
but that will depend on the employer.

It varies; we get students anywhere from 18 to 50 years of age and
even older.

They are not accredited, which means they do not transfer to the college
level. But they are fully approved for real estate licensing in the
state of Nevada.

We work with Sallie Mae to provide student loans. Please call the school
to see if you qualify.
