1) How fast can I get my real estate license?
The whole process from education to license in hand can take approximately
three to four months.

2) What are the basic steps involved in getting my real estate license?
- Choose Kaplan Professional Schools to get the salesperson pre-licensing
coursework.
- Complete Courses and obtain certificates by passing a final
exam for each course that will be submitted to TREC.
- Submit Evaluation of Education form to TREC. All education
documents, including copies of college transcripts and copies of real
estate school certificates must be sent to TREC. The Request for Evaluation
of Education Documents form can be downloaded at www.trec.state.tx.us.
From the submission date of education documents to TREC, it will take
approximately six weeks to obtain the license.
- Submit the completed salesperson application to TREC after
students have received the education approval from TREC. Applications
can be completed online or printed from the TREC website.
- Schedule the license examination with PSI after receiving
the Candidate Information Brochure (CIB) from TREC. Applicants have
six months from the date the application was filed to pass the examination.

- Get Fingerprinted. Anyone applying for a broker or salesperson
license after January 1, 2008, must get fingerprinted in connection
with the application. Currently, there are 70 locations statewide where
electronic fingerprints can be taken. Visit http://www.trec.state.tx.us

- Take Exam Prep Course. Take the two day live or online pre-recorded
version. We recommend taking the exam prep two days to a week before
taking the salesperson or broker licensing exam.
- Take the State Exam. Once someone passes the exam, the results
are sent electronically to TREC, and an active license will be sent
directly to the sponsoring broker.

4) What content is covered on the licensing exam? What percentage
would I need correct to pass?
- 30 hours in Real Estate Principles (#0111)
- 30 hours in Real Estate Principles and Practices (#0112)
- 30 hours in Law of Agency (#1111)
- 30 hours in Law of Contracts (#1200)
The exam is divided into two sections. The national portion has 80
multiple-choice questions and the state portion has 30 multiple-choice
questions. You have 105 minutes to complete the national portion and
45 minutes to complete the state portion. You must score at least 70%
or higher on both parts to pass.

5) Describe your exam prep courses.
- Diagnostic tests that will measure strengths and weaknesses by subject
area and give students a reliable prediction of their performance on
the PSI state exam.

14) How do I get a license to help people apply for loans?
We currently dont offer this education.
To become a licensed loan officer in the state of Texas, you
must complete 60 hours of classroom training, including four hours of
Ethics. You also must be sponsored by a licensed mortgage broker.

15) What is the average age for your students?
It varies; we get students anywhere from 18 to 50 years of age and
even older.

16) Are your courses accredited?
They are not accredited, which means they do not transfer to the college
level. But they are fully approved for real estate licensing in the
state of Texas.

17) Do you have financial assistance? Do you honor the GI Bill?
We work with Sallie Mae to provide student loans. Please call the school
to see if you qualify.
